Spring Greenscape Day
Saturday April 20 - 9:00 am to noon Please join us for the spring greenscape day and help to spruce up the SOFO corridor. We have three locations of interest, Bay Ridge Triangle, Pirates Lane, and the Robinwood Entrance. We will be planting plants and seeds, weeding, and cleaning out the gardens and surrounding areas. Toy Drive for underprivilage students on the SOFO Corridor. The 2023 SOFO HoHo is on for it’s 8th season. Unfortunately we are still waiting for another year to bring Santa to the HoHo event. But that does not deter us from collecting presents and cash donations to spread the Christmas Spirit to our elementary students in need. We will be collecting presents, through Dec 13, at various locations along the SOFO Corridor, We are also giving you an option for cash donations and a small team of SOFO elves will whisk around and purchase the toys for the students. Students, who need some holiday cheer, will be receiving the toys around Dec 18th, in time for their adults to prepare for the big day on Christmas. Fall Greenscape Day

We will be starting a new garden location on Bay Ridge Road between McDonalds and Subway. To start we are clearing out an area, planting some daffodils and other winter annuals. October 30, 2021 Please join us for the fall greenscape day and help to spruce up the SOFO corridor. We have two locations of interest, Bay Ridge Triangle and the Robinwood Community. We will be planting bulbs, cleaning up summer growth, and getting gardens ready for the winter season.

Because social distancing is the now norm, we are adapting the SOFO HoHo Toy Drive to a collection of cash donations. We will not be collecting presents at various locations along the SOFO Corridor, and unfortunately we will not have a HoHo event to visit Santa. Instead we are asking for cash donations and a small team of SOFO elves will whisk around and purchase the toys for the students. Summer Movie Series Under the Stars:
We had a very successful summer of Movie's under the Stars. Festivities started 2 hours before showtime. Live music, Beer & Wine garden, themed foods, Ice Cream and popcorn were served. This is a free event for the families and friends of the SOFO Community. Look for our 2020 line up of films.

2019 Fall Greenscape
On Oct 26 18 volunteers gathered to beautify two locations along the SOFO corridor. The first location is the "Triangle of Death" which we have adopted and keep fresh. This year we had 200 bulbs to plant after taking the sunflowers out of the way. The other location is the Annapolis Middle School Fence. Here we removed leaves that were trapped at the base of the fence, spruced up the memorial garden, and added water to the lighthouse mural.
Students and teachers helped at the fence while business owners and garden club members helped at the triangle.

PAST EVENTS:
Spring Greenscape 2019-
The spring greenscape project produced a lush garden environment in the triangle of Forest Dr, Bay Ridge Dr, Bay Ridge Rd, and Hillsmere Dr. Over 80 plants were installed. Thanks for the plants from City of Annapolis and Garden Girls. We also planted many wildflower seeds. As you are stopped at the light, take a look.
Fall Greenscape
The Fall Greenscape event took place on Nov 4th starting at 9:00 AM. We planted 200 tulip and 200 daffodil bulbs along the SOFO corridor for bright spring flowers. Expect to see flowers on the median strip outside the K&B True Value store. Also bright blubs will be greeting the students of Annapolis Middle School this spring. Planters and gardens outside the school are full of bulbs, thanks to the help from the Goals for Growth Soccer Club athletes.

Outreach
SOFO believes that the residents of our community help to build our community in strength as a whole. There are many community efforts along the corridor to enhance the lives of the residents and SOFO believes in staying active in the community by helping to facilitate such efforts through charitable contributions.
Here is the SOFO Contribution Request form.
Please submit the SOFO contribution request form three months prior to your event. On a quarterly basis the SOFO board will review submitted applications and will be in touch with ways we may be able to contribute or volunteer.
SOFO will utilize the goods and services of its members to fulfill your request.
The Center of Help in Annapolis received a $300 grant from SOFO for the purchase of 20 USB WiFi adapters on 2/4/21. Pictured here with Kirsten from the Center of Help, this will enable students in the ESL program and middle school equivalency program to study from home since they are currently unable to utilize the in person computers at the Center of Help.
